Christmas in July with Crafty Friends

I must start this post with a huge apology to my lovely Crafty Friends Teamies - as I am nearly a week late posting my DT card for the current challenge, will remedy that in a mo, but to explain, I don't actually think that I have been in possession of a "full set of marbles" since my holiday! A fortnight ago most of the UK experienced heavy rain and a thunder storm and during this time I stepped out of the caravan to answer my mobile, slipped on the top step and ended up on the patio at the bottom on my knees - at the time I was more worried about cracking the screen on my mobile and Alistair was more interested in  moaning about my wearing flip flops on such a surface. I was able to stand and bear weight on my leg so was happy that there was no breakage, but as the last two weeks have progressed it is still extremely painful at times and had kept me awake of a night time. I was getting a bit fed up at the weekend, so went to our local out of hours gp, who diagnosed ligament damage and advised me to take co-codamol along with the ibruprofen. Having been doing this I have gone to other extreme that the painkillers are now making me really sleepy so one way or another I have been running on a fuzzy brain for the last two weeks......hence the reason it completely passed me by that I had a challenge to tell you all about!!!!!

So........ at the Crafty Friends Challenge, this time it's all about
Christmas in July!!!

our lovely sponsors are:

If you are our lucky winner of this challenge, you will receive the following fabulous prize...  3 individual digital images or 1 digital set of your choice from Beccy's Place Store

I have used this gorgeous sentiment and candy cane image from Beccy's Place, which comes from the Tied up with String set.

There is still plenty of time to join in with this challenge and some other fantastic DT cards to browse, so come on over and join in with the festive fun!

Like Spending time with an old friend......

Hello, and thank yous for taking the time to visit me today......hope all is well with you xx

Whilst, it is such an exciting feeling when you click to download a new digi stamp or rip the wrapper of a new rubber stamp, I find equal joy in stumbling upon a folder on your pc that contains digi's that you havent used for absolutely ages. I have been working my way through stuff on my pc and transferring files over to my laptop, when I opened up the Pink Petticoat file that I've not touched for such  a long while (shame on me!!!)  I had forgotten how much I loved this particular Froggie, so it really was like a chance meeting with an old friend - so that was that and the file tidy up got put to one side in favour of printing, and once printed, well may just a bit of colouring and then maybe I'll just make a little card........
My card features:

  • Frog on swing image from Pink Petticoat (I suspect now discontinued)
  • coloured with Promarkers
  • Dotty card stock from Annamarie designs
  • other paper is a Hobby House magazine freebie
  • used lacy circles spellbinders die, also coloured with promarkers to complement
  • added doily just to lift colours a little
  • woodware flower punch, flowers also coloured with promarkers, and sakura gelly pen to add faux stitch
  • pearls from stash
  • ribbon from local drapery store - I thought the texture of this ribbon matched the frog, beautifully!

Hello, and thanking you for bobbing by today - hope you've had a great weekend.

I spotted a couple of challenges this week, with a "sporty" theme. Now, I thoroughly enjoy watching certain sports, but as for taking part - hmmm, not so much! When I was a little girl, probably the most sporty thing I did was pound the pavements on my roller skates. All Creatures Great and Small, with the Cuties!

Good Morning, and thanks for stopping by! Hope the new week has got off to a good start - my Monday morning started a little earlier than planned - with a phone call from work at 4.55am!!! Megan has a summer job in our store, but is working with a team that has been seconded to another store which is being refit, and when it re-opens will be a Bunnings Warehouse - instead of a Homebase store. Anyway, apparently her alarm never went off this morning, and when she wasn't at the prearranged pick up, they realized what must've happened and phoned me to give her a kick - the poor soul was up and out in about 10 minutes! Fortunately, I'm an early bird anyway, so I've had time to catch up on some DT stuff before I need to think about getting ready for work myself!

anyway, enough waffle - more today it is our "A Little Extra Cutie-ness" Inspiration post day - if you've not seen it yet, why not hop on over for a nosey??

Happy Fathers Day!

Hello there....hope you are having a lovely weekend, and making the most of this glorious sunshine.

Whether you will be fortunate enough to spending time with your Dad's today, or spending time thinking about your Dad's today - I wish you a Happy Day!

This is the card that I've made for Megan and Cameron to give Alistair today,
I couldn't resist using this adorable James the Bear digi stamp and adding my own sentiment - using Unkempt Font. The image is coloured with promarkers, and instead of using a normal circular style of colouring, I kind of just dragged the marker to create a mor "woody" look for his sign, thought this would look great with this wood effect DP too, and finished with two wee stars too (as this card is from our two wee stars!)

I would like to enter:

have a lovely day xx

I had mentioned in previous posts, that last weekend I did a craft fair - to be honest, it wasn't the best advertised event and the turn out was disappointing, but still managed to sell a few cards and bit and bobs including a couple of the felt keyrings, that I have been making recently. When we were at the caravan a few weeks ago, I was discussing with my Mum, what we were going to do at this event and I stumbled upon a few ideas on Pinterest that I couldn't resist trying - I thoroughly enjoyed making these - whilst my sewing skills have plenty of room for improvement, it was lovely to have a go at something different....

thanks again for visiting, cheerio for now xx

Do you ever have days where you are rushing around so much, that you think you are going to meet yourself coming back....I do hope that you are nodding now, 'cos that pretty much sums this week up for me.......the bank holiday weekend, was crazy busy at work, I am doing a craft fair this weekend coming up so still struggling to get sooo many things finished and ready, Megan is now home from Uni, but is back at work with me, although on different shifts, and just as it happens most of Cameron's friends live in an area of town near to my place of work, and good old Mum is a free and reliable taxi service, so I feel like I am spending half my time driving up and down the same road!!!!

Anyway, enough of my rambles, I am here today, as we have a fab new challenge at
our theme this time is

It is a really versatile sketch, so I hope you will be inspired to join in with us, why not hop on over to also check out the other fantastic DT here

I used the Framed Penguins image from Dilly Beans, which I coloured with Promarkers. The papers are from a Payper Box pick and mix. Used my wee fave "Baby Lexi" font for the sentiment.

We treated ourselves to another trip to the West End, last night and saw the magnificent....
Kinky Boots!

This was on Megan's wishlist and I didn't know very much about it....absolutely loved it though! Very funny and very sassy...but at the same time very moving and touching too. Another show that I would highly recommend.

So, as I mentioned earlier, we had another weekend away in the caravan, bit of a mixed bag with the weather, but was still able to enjoy a couple of drives out in the lovely Kent in a busy town it is so easy to forget that such beautiful scenery, and charming little villages are just a short drive away and when the sun started shining on Saturday we decided to visit a little spot that we found on our last weekend away. Hothfield is a little village just outside of Ashford and is home to the most wonderful Heathland Nature Reserve. Obviously there is an abundance of plant life, tree's, birds that sort of thing which are wonderful enough, but there are also ponies roaming wild and some cattle too including this absolute beauty that we met up with on our walk.

Having seen plenty of Highland cattle on our various trips to Scotland, but never this close I feel incredibly privileged.

Anyway, its back to normal life and work today, so I will say cheerio for now!
